R.I.P. JJ Cale: After Midnight and Call Me the Breeze

JJ Cale was the blues guitarist whose songs, including Cocaine and After Midnight, were made famous by Eric Clapton. He’s dead at 74 today of a heart attack.

Cale recorded 14 studio albums and won a contemporary blues Grammy for The Road to Escondido in 2008.

Below, Cale plays a blazing rendition of After Midnight and Call Me the Breeze with Clapton at a show two years ago:
