Derek Thompson looks at the already-probably-doomed merger between Office Depot and whatever the other one was called this week at The Atlantic.  He explains why the Death of Retail hasn't felt like a death in the eyes of the consumer thanks to Amazon and Wal-Mart.  There's also this crazy chart showing the negative change in employment for the retail industry by category.
